Apple Shares New Videos in iPhone Tips Series Covering Wallet, Face ID, Live Photos, Apple Support App and More

Smart of Apple to disable comments on their videos. They know they’d be criticized to death for their shortcomings.

Yeah, or praised for coming up with some good ideas and products. Anything is possible, eh?

Heh, one could wonder why MacRumors doesn’t just disable comments on the pieces in this section.

In a way it’s generous of MacRumors to permit comments on the Apple-related news put up by its editors. It’s also probably a clue that they’ve learned what it may expect from such generosity that some articles presented here have their comments segments “quarantined” 😀 over in the Politics, Religion and Social Issues subforum…

Apple is a provider of computing gear, associated software and services with plenty of competition. It’s reasonable for Apple to assume that some percentage of commenters on their videos or anything else might be supplied by [S]trolls[/S] fans or employees of competing companies. So on their own channel, Apple, like some other enterprises, may elect not to invite comment on their officially released media content. There are plenty of ways to provide feedback to Apple directly via links on pages of their own website.

Anyway, some of us actually like hearing –from secondary sources that we tend to visit frequently– about stuff Apple releases or may be releasing, including not just rumors but Apple-released videos, ads, gear, announcements of upcoming events, etc. If we drop in pretty often anyway, a site like MacRumors is a good place to maintain an overview on all things Apple without having to hunt such info down in a bunch of other sites. The info’s here, with links for good measure.

Just because the pieces exist (and the supplied info behind them exists as well), that doesn’t mean we have to watch or read any of them. Even if we do, it doesn’t necessarily mean we’re either fans or critics.
