In childhood, we used to take many things for granted: there was always fruit in a basket on the table, cookies were always served with tea every morning, and clothes were always replaceable when they’d become worn-out. When living in an atmosphere of complete prosperity, few people think about what everyday items less fortunate people might consider a luxury.

We at Bright Side editorial came across a thread where people who grew up in poverty talked about the things they didn’t have as kids that became signs of wealth for them. It’s amazing how simple and affordable those items seem now.

We would like to ask our readers (even those who didn’t necessarily grow up in poverty): what things were you lacking in childhood? Which of these things are used on a regular basis in your home now?
